Privacy
The short version: we don't ask who you are, we don't use cookies, and we don't sell anything about you. Our web host does keep some basic technical information, explained below.
What we don't do
- No accounts, and no names or email addresses collected.
- No cookies of any kind.
- No ads, trackers, or code from other companies. Even our fonts load from this site.
- We don't sell or share information about visitors.
Searching and looking up codes
The question search and the code lookup run entirely in your browser. What you type there isn't sent to us or anyone else.
Our web host
This site is hosted by Netlify. Like nearly every web host, Netlify automatically records basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you visited, to run the service and protect it from abuse. We can't turn this off, and we don't have access to those records. You can read Netlify's privacy statement.
Counting visits
We use our host's built-in visit counter to see which pages are useful. It works from those same records, adds no code or cookies to the page, and shows us only totals, such as page views and visitors by country.
Questions and experiences you send
What you write in the Ask a question form is delivered to us through Netlify's form service. Along with your message, the form service records technical details that come with any form, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time. It also checks each submission with Akismet, a spam-filtering service. We don't use these details to identify anyone, and we delete submissions from the form service each week after we've read them.
We don't ask for your name or email. Please leave out anything that could identify you or anyone else, such as names, offices, insurers, places, and dates. We remove identifying details before anything is published. If you share an experience and give permission to publish it, we keep a record of that permission.
HIPAA
This site isn't a health care provider, a health plan, or a claims processor, the groups HIPAA applies to, so HIPAA doesn't cover what you send us. That's another reason to keep it anonymous.
Other sites
Links to outside sources take you to sites with their own privacy practices.
Changes
If this changes, we'll update this page. Questions? Ask us.
